Buildings in natural materials
Thalia was built from East Coast stone. Massive weathered beams inside the house were recycled from a heritage bridge, telling its story to those who listen. A single colossal stone block crowns the living room fireplace. Black limestone floors retain the sun’s warmth. The taps for the outdoor bath rise from an aged branch of Huon pine. Powered entirely by solar and wind energy, Thalia was created with attention to detail, from playful touches in fittings to antiques and folk art gathered during the owners’ overseas travels.
